Weber kettle Doohicky ID

I have a weber performer (kettle with stand/cart). The ash sweep.fin system had been jacked up for years. Finally ordered a new aftermarket one last month and today was the day when I had some time to mess with it. I had to use a hacksaw and reciprocating edge saw thingy to get the old one off.

Open up new one. Instructions are crap, just as you would expect. But I got what seems to be the needed pieces and parts together.

But there's this doohicky in the box, in a little bag by itself. Don't see it anywhere in the instructions. No idea what it is... anybody got a clue?

That was my guess as well. Some kind of scraper jig a ma thing.

What's the 2 holes used for? String to hang it somewhere?

Well, on all the pics people are posting, "grill scrapper" is inscribed on the doohicky. Just wanted to specifically state that it's not on mine...in case anyone's wondering about my noggin skills. In this case, I'm not as blind as it may seem...

 

I thought it was a spark plug gapper!! LOL

 

Bahahaha! That came to my mind as well when I was standing there holding it wondering wth. But then I was like "damm what a gap!"

 

This is for smaller grills...
