I'm admittedly awful at documenting my scrounging, once I start cutting I forget to take pics. Figured I'd share this one, small trailer loaded with fresh cedar rounds, will be campfire wood in 9 months! 2 saws today, a 291 and an 009. About an hours worth of work at one of the long term project properties on my list. 20240928_141651.jpg

Nice haul there. How do you like your 009?

We could always have Eric VW pay you a visit to help with documentation!

Love the 009. Guy at work brought it in as a bucket of parts. I resurrected it and he offered it to me for a small donation, which I gladly paid. It's light, cuts well, very fun to use. It lives in my truck 24/7, just in case.

I bought a beater one for $50 that runs but needs TLC and i'm not a chain saw mechanic so it sits. I've read of them having an 012 top end put in making it a 45cc saw. Is yours the 009L? With a shorter bar seems like an ideal truck saw.

Nice score. I find picture “documentation” helps me keep track of what wood is next up to burn.

Not so sure a trip to Wisconsin is in my future any time soon… the FHC helicopter seems to be booked every time I check.

$50 is what I paid the guy after I had it all fixed up, that's a good price. Totally worth putting a little effort into the saw, they're great machines. Mine is an 009L. I run a 16 bar on it just for versatility bc it lives in the truck, but a 14 would be great for climbing and such. Has great balance and controls.
