Cleaned my XS7900 with compressed air. Went to fire it up and it lost spark. The switch had no tactile or audible click between on and off.

The two halves of the switch had come apart. I had to get it out of the housing. I tried to get a small screwdriver behind the switch but no dice. It went right back together once I pressed them back together. This is the kinda problem I can deal with.

no dolmars up here much so kinda forgot they used the husky style kill switch that seems to like to break for me. Cheap enough to buy a new one though.

Have 2 500i’s and a 201 tcm in shop for tlc, just did 4 other 500’s for minor stuff, couple 201 tcm and a 194 last week. Sharpened about 4 dozen chains that the tree service drops off 100 or more at a time.

It’s a husky style kill switch but on and off are reversed. I’m don’t own any husky saws so I’m not fighting a habit and getting frustrated.

maybe. The Makita to switch it off is away from the handle. The husky is off towards the handle is my understanding.

Leaking fuel into the bar oil tank.

I was going to take out a go fund me account to buy the parts, because I read on the internet that stihl is $$$$, and only rich guys that can afford hotel stays can pay the prices. Disaster averted. The Local dealer is getting me two @ $5 a piece.

Then there's this. May or may not have been caused by the ham fisted window licker putting the bar on. If that is the case, it's the first one I've ruined. I will be erring on the side of caution with looser bar nuts going forward just in case.

Both the through the case bolt style or the thread in with the flange on the back that hits the bar is far superior to this design.

Owner said it was cutting out like a bad sparkplug
It was just the Ignition module was just loose
Hel likes to tinker so i don't know if he did it or not
    I loctited it. IMG_20241109_132014.jpg
The ropes on all 5 g288s I've seen are extremely short so i changed it.

New to me Jonsered 2150. Cleaned the carburetor, replaced the gaskets and diaphragm, and changed out the fuel line. Fires right up and runs very crisp.

I think you’ll like that after getting some trigger time. I love how light they are.

My 028av wood boss is back apart. It’ll be an 028 super with a 2mm larger bore and pop up piston when it goes back together. This’ll be a good opportunity to really get this saw spotless as last time around I left the tank on.

CAD strikes again. I bought this pair for $50 total. Really I only wanted the Husqvarna but I had to buy both to get the deal. I’m sure Eggshooterist would approve of the wild thing ;) I probably won’t touch the Poulan for a while but I’ll start going through the Husky soon, cleaning the carburetor and giving it a good once over. The guy hasn’t started either of them in 5 years.
