Yeah I can see how that might not get around to well with an operator on the platform and no load in the hopper. Takes much of the weight off the drive tires. The track machine is a different animal.
I had the operators platform folded up as it didn't have clearance to get over the lip created by the existing concrete...plus it was just in general a tight area to get in/out of...
Canycom track machines work well. I’ve only used this one trail building to move rock and dirt. I wouldn’t mind having it for firewood duty

Yard Max I believe is another brand that has tracks. There was a member on here a while back that was selling one. It was very well done, and he added a skid plate and a couple other upgrades he had also done. It was very tempting and if I did not have a tractor, I can almost guarantee I would have bought it.
A fella had one of these on the lake last winter. Hauled himself, his gear and a buddy with his gear 4 sleds like a train it was pretty neat.
I could see that tipping over with a load on an angle or that scissor lift folding up like a chair. This style drive has been around forever , kind of like the old Maytag washer engines that would power about anything. The power is there just get creative. That is awesome,
. I see these walk behind tractors for sale all the time, the old ones are built strong enough to do some real work. for under $500 a guy can hit the woods.
Old gravleys are out there. That was the go to power unit for sure. Yours is a perfect example if you get creative you can make it work.
I was just going to suggest a old gravely or Jonsered used to make a tracked skidder called the Iron horse I sold one years ago from my shop they were pricy but had wide tracks like a snowmobile and the person that bought it still has it and uses it JB
Wonder if a fella couldn't repurpose a power wheels to haul stuff? I've seen people make beach carts out of them but not sure how they'd do with real weight on them. Electric motor is all torque so if you got the gearing right and added a battery might work.
I talked with someone that worked in a shop that did warranty repairs on those...said pretty much any mods to them shorten the lifespan...some more than others. Plastic drive gears, so if bigger battery installed for more power, stripped gears. Screw rubber to the plastic tires for better traction, stripped gears. Engineered obsolescence for sure...
Lots of neat ideas so far. I noticed a rash of cheap Chinese mini skid steers on BookFace marketplace lately. Like 4-5k new cheap.
