I went out this morning in VT to grab a few loads of rounds that I cut up a few weeks back from this project: Logging Leftovers

Came upon this massive Maple that feel and took out part of an Oak. I had a few ratchet straps with me and rigged up a non OSHA approved way of moving the bigger sections. I snapped an older strap, but had another to use that finished the job. I had enough room to get the quad and trailer around. But that part left on the main trunk looks rather precarious! I sent some pics to my neighbor as this is on his land. I offered my help to get this cleaned up. Will keep this thread updated.

Looks like a lot of great wood to be had, but be careful of the pressure points.

Will do! My neighbor plans on heading up there with his loader. Will definitely keep everybody updated.

That will make it a lot safer. Those can be tricky.

Agreed! He has a degree in engineering and was a commercial pilot. He’s way better at mathing and physics than I!

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread. Ironically, we are about a year out.

This finally hit the ground! Not sure when as I haven’t been up there in quite some time, but ventured up today. I texted our neighbor some pics, so more info to come….
