I started with less than a face cord a d since May gathered up about 7 cords. I could get more as there are down trees everywhere near me due to a recent storm. I'm stopping as I don't want any unwanted attention. New to neighborhood and the people I talk to around me already know me as the wood guy. A busy body could make trouble even without an HOA. I'm at least 60 percent red and white oak, mulberry is at least 10 to 20 percent, and the rest is a combination of silver maple and a smaller amount of hedge and some pine and some other random lower quality hardwood gathered after last week's storm.
Very impressive amount there. Storms can create a lot of free wood. Will you gather up more or on hold for a while? Oh, and I'm sure you're not the only one here who is known as "the wood guy"
Nicely done! As someone who works as a director in local government, check the local codes for storage of firewood (check the municipal website, don't inquire because you don't want to tip off the municipality). That'll give you the answers on how much you can keep on hand, if there are any rules about it. If no ordinances, and no HOA or neighborhood convenances, feel free to stock the firewood to the moon, and tell the neighbors to pound sand.
