Poor picture quality, but this is the standard setup on newer machines.
Took these at work this morning
The 2 white fan blades are where the belt drives the pump on each side. They are integral to the transaxle.
    These are tuff torque brand
The second picture I tried to get a side view to so how it's 1 unit. Different mower, but same transaxle IMG_20240827_070724.jpg IMG_20240827_070331.jpg

So a hydro drive unit...totally different that some that have a single pump driving 2 wheel motors.
This is what I'm always harping about on more homeowner grade units to make sure the hydros are at least serviceable (can change oil/filter...the sealed ones are pretty light duty!

It's good, don't worry about it. Sincerely the Marketing department

Seriously people, they need to do better, people are default all the nuances about why this machine costs 500-1k more than others, and when their own website doesn't clear it up. All the manufacturers of mowers are like this. It's pizz poor.

My apologies to anyone working in marketing, but details matter.

Yep. Totally different than what your machine has and this Scag has vs what was just posted which is transaxles. Wheel motors and a pump (or two?) are different than transaxles. Wheel motors and pumps can be rebuilt, but probably will never need to unless run commercially and a lot, while the transaxles are less so, especially the sealed non serviceable ones.

The scag he's looking at is a commercial machine I believe.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.
I know if no commercial machine that uses homeowner grade lawn tractor style axles.
All I've ever seen have been hydro drive units.
All the new ones have been this integrated style I've pictured

Screwloose don’t know your size; cousin is 6 foot 9 and his brother 6’6 and 320 minimum
Run a landscape business.. you want bigger units but you’ll fit. They use exmark

6'4 currently in the 390's. Just worried is all......same worry I get sitting on a picnic table when people on the other side get up.

I asked some folks at work about their opinions on the vride. Mostly puzzled stares but they said it’s what they use when a rider is down. Better for tight spaces and wet grass. I’d say it was a favorable opinion. Fwiw the bulk of the mower fleet is Scag. Bobcats have been abandoned and there may be 1 or 2 Gravelys still in operation. The local Kubota dealer is also the Scag dealer. I love the Scag seats and would like to put one on my Kubota if they ever scrap a Scag at work.

So I made a call to the Scag dealer....
He said my weight was not a problem but he also said that his size 11 shoe hangs over the edge platform. I'd like to go and check it out but it's tough to get out of work early enough.
    Dang always something.

We have raised them but pricing has always made me sick to my stomach.
30 years in business you'd think I'd get the hang of it.

I had to rebuild a water tank on one. New truck was delayed and OEM replacement tank was nuts..... really nuts.

I help some new business owners with plans as they get started. One was a mobile mechanic, nice fellow, couple young kids. He would drive around and fix people cars at their home or work. Started at $50 an hour; as he went to $100 he made more $$ worked less hours and as he said if I felt compelled to reduce a customer bill I can
