Breaking- We Just Hit Isis In Syria

Not a minute ago, got the news on the TV. I'd say it's about time. But this could get complicated.

 

I have not always been in favor of intervention, but this time around 100% agreed. We need to deal with these crazies. Just this weekend some afghani soldiers went missing from Otis ARB on the Cape... later caught trying to sneak into Canada.. hmmm...

I want to see the nations in that region also step up and do there part so we dont have to do it all again.


Now, how do we keep this thread non-political so it doesnt get zapped?

After the U.S. Has already been through this, we all know what to look for. More abductions , more killings of the innocent and since ISIS is not all Arab based who's to say how they will make their mark on our soil.

 

Watch your six folks, and keep your powder dry. ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood have sleeper cells here.

Also Russia and China have warned us repeatedly not to strike Syria. Russia has a very important Navy base there.

We may think we know what to look for, but how do we know for sure? Think about this....
Most of the MS 13 are not all tatted-up and hardcore. But they do what they're instructed. That goes for the majority of the rest of them. Doesn't matter who they affiliate with. Latin Kings, Norte 14'ers, etc.. etc....
Back in the day, in my area of Calif., I was known and neutral, so welcome where I went. Lucky for a white boy, but I had strong friends.
The guy's that'd make you coffee at Dunkin' Donuts in the morning, same guy's would do a drive-by or hold up a 7-11 that night.
So how do you know? Answer is- you don't. And you won't until it's too late, sucks but true. And now we have outside forces working to wreck us.
But they're here, now. So how do we, the ill-informed, identify these people without becoming -

• overly paranoid
• overly paranoid
• and..overly paranoid???

I'll admit, I have and will continue to "Profile" certain behaviors and speech. And if I feel the concern is great enough, I'll pass on my observations to others. I'm not "jumping-the-gun", but I'm going to play it safe. As will others.

 

Good question, one for which I don't have an answer. We live in a relatively small town of 22,000 people. If they have enough sleeper cells that they're targeting areas like ours, we're all screwed.

Frankly I fear government over reaction more than the terrorist.

 

I'm really torn. I would love to wipe out ISIS but I'm also sick of our young men and women either not coming home or coming home disabled. Maybe we could have a voluntary army of us old farts. We need to produce more oil here (which we are) and tell the Middle East to KMA. I'm Trying to keep this apolitical as much as possible.

The issue with this type of warfare are there are no boundaries and the enemy does not fight with any sort of rules of engagment. This is a tricky foe to defeat. I for one am greatful we are able to arm ourselves. I believe it makes us much less vulnerable to some of these kinds of threats. However, the random attacks will be hard to defend.

 

Dittos. We can't be so obsessed with not talking politics that we let ourselves become petrified and not discuss any world current events. I see no partisan/political comments so far on this thread.
