I was just hoping to get pictures of the stickers in the door. One for payload and the other for the axle rating weights and GVRW. historically, the website says my truck can have up to 3270 lb payload on an F150. But that’s for a 2WD regular cab 8’ bed only. that’s a long ways from reality
Yeah, the door sticker says 3,198 lbs. for payload, first time I looked at it, lol. The other numbers are the same. That's weird, on the 2015 Ram 2500 I just traded in, the info on Rams Body Builder website said my axle weight ratings were 5,500 lbs. front and 6,000 lbs. rear. The door sticker said 5,500 lbs. front and 6,500 lbs. rear. Being that I plow, I'm more concerned with front axle weight ratings than the other ratings. A 3,000 lbs. payload and 14,000 lbs. towing capacities are more than enough for me. NYH1.
I use the skidsteer for snow removal. that’s insane for a front axle weight. there’s a 650 lb weight difference in our payloads. I’m rated for a 13,400 lb trailer and 18,700 gvrw. that is NUTS. My front axle is nearly half yours. In that application, it totally makes sense what you did.
Yeah, I only need the heavier duty truck because I plow. I have a little 18' enclosed trailer that's 7,000 lbs. GVWR. If I didn't plow, I'd have a half ton for sure. NYH1.
I drove a 99" 3 door F250 sometimes, then main driver for couple years, hands down the best heater and A/C I've ever known. Mid 2000's husband was in freezing cold snap in Wyoming, he called me from inside it early one morning after being plugged in all night at a hotel and there was a big bang followed by some choice words. The heater-defrost vs the outside temp cracked the windshield. What does NYH stand for ?
They overate modern 1/2 tons IMO...that Superduty will handle being overloaded 3 times better than a 1/2 ton will at/under GVWR...especially long-term durability/reliability! You get under there and start looking at the suspension/axles/brakes, the difference is substantial!
If I towed or hauled for work, I’d have gotten a 250. but I need a grocery getter more than a work truck.
All max tow ratings on modern pickups are stupid. I just looked at Ford's spec sheet (max config) and there's no possible way I'd drive this heavy on any of them. I'm not worried about the truck I'm worried about my life. 13.5K on F150 is stupid. 22.7K on F250 is stupid. 38K on F350 is stupid. 40K on F450 is stupd.
