I made my own bee spray like that. Works pretty good. They fall and squirm across the ground, dying in 30-45 seconds.
Havent seen any in the ground yet. Got stung by one back in June. Small nest under a tarp on the ground. Bee spray to the rescue. Knocked down a small wasp nest under a top cover over the weekend.
Here you go Turbo. I forgot my coffee on the way to go work on that rental house today. I drive back real quick and of course I pull up RIGHT next to 3 of the bastadges murderlizing a dying cicada. After a quick self lesson in tap dancing, one stomp and I got all 3 of them. Score one for our side!
One of those bastages zapped Holly on the leg yesterday for no apparent reason. She jumped, I saw it, swatted it off her leg and gave it the justice it deserved. She was lookin all around with that WTF look.
I use a shop vac and an extension cord if they are anywhere nearby the yard. I wait till night, set the hose tip right by the hole with something heavy to hold it. Keep it unplugged while turning it on then go plug it in. It will empty the nest.
I think the same thing every year when I go out to brush hog our farm with the cab less tractor. I keep telling my wife someday when I grow up I’m gonna get me a tractor with a cab! It’s been a dream for years. One of these years.
They are aggressive this time of year. My dad brush hogged a nest many years ago while clearing a yard/field to build a pool. Wearing pants and a long sleeve shirt with collar, got over 100 stings on his head/neck, hands/wrists, ankles... Then had to run back and shut the tractor off before it ran through the neighbor's house.
I was walking along a fence line trimming trees while wearing shorts. Got stung on the shin. Twenty minutes later I returned in my sealed skid steer cab with a 14 inch auger and returned the favor.
Found yet another nest that has been pillaged by a critter. I was running the saw when I saw it. I’m rooting for more of this.
What kind of critter can stand to dig them out? They have to be getting stung A LOT during this activity...
