We had mostly tree limbs and leaves on the roads, the rain wasn't too much. Interesting summer with the lawns lush green all summer. The humidity is what is the problem. That has only been tolerable a few days.
3 ground wasps nests today. I have a solid game plan with good results every time. 1 gallon on permethrin mixed per the label 1 gallon pump sprayer One car with AC running It’s dusty but hey it’s my back up car. Mostly use the pickup. It is a better idea to do this at night when they are asleep but when you have the time and want them gone it’ll work. No stings and just sit in the ac and hose em down. This will also work spraying nests in trees or roof eves. As long as the spray will reach them. Pulled away after spraying and came back an hour later and they were all dead. I have had the great fortune of not being attacked by ground wasps in a few years. I’d rather be the boxer than the bag.
Moved the tractor to the other property and picked up a load of firewood at my son's work. 4 more pallets.
Siblings alternating shifts hanging out with Mom at the Hospital. She is doing well sometimes, other times, not so well. They hope to let her go home Tuesday or Wednesday. We will all like that more. Hopefully it helps in her recovery.
I can't decide whether I have too much stuff to do or not enough time to do it. Going to head out shortly and do some brush hogging and tilling for food plots. Great weather for it....dry, cloudy, and upper 70's.
Some time back....maybe a year or tow or so.....there was a discussion regarding paying off loans. I held the belief that making extra payments on the principal is the most advantageous; others held the belief that making extra payments or even making two 1/2 payments every two weeks was a good approach. Well, here it is 3 years into my 30 year mortgage and I am currently at 40% of its original balance! Feels great, too! Now, if I can just keep from making any other major purchases during the next two years.....
I thought I had ground hogs again until I saw wasps flying out of the hole. Some critter did half the dirty work for me last night. Probably a skunk, raccoon or possum. Sprayed the remainder of them and dumped dirt into the hole. I better be careful weedeating or mowing.
I've been craving a gasoline vehicle for a long time now. I hope to get one in the future. Not too high but high enough to be above the line of impact if an accident happens. What vehicle might you be admiring?
We only had high winds from Debbie here. Have one big old oak tree blown over smashing one of my asian pear trees to smithereens. It was supposed to be a little cooler and drier today and figured I'd clean some of it up but it got too hot too early. Then later I started cutting the lawn and it rained.
