That sucks Brother...Been there and done it myself! Good luck with the cleanup and I hope he rain has moved on!
If I were you, I would be shopping around for other insurance providers. Those are impossible rate hikes to sit back and take without concrete research into alternatives.
From Brother: Dr was in. Tests say mom had a stroke. Said it was great that she has strength in both arms and both legs Awaiting university of Vermont neurological team recommendations for care. She seems fine but is confused
Newspaper from Pittsburgh was at the school a few weeks ago. They were doing a story on workforce education. One of the pictures they took that ended up in the article has me in it. It's pretty cool to me . Makes me feel like I'm making a difference here.
Just an Rant. Did something this morning I haven't done in years, stopped at dunkin donuts, just to get a large coffee, black, no donuts. $3.75 yikes. Only reason was I had medical tests this morning ( that's and story unto itself) prior and was on that no input of dang near everything except water for 12 hrs prior.
I think the last time I got a medium regular, no sugar coffee at DD it was somewhere between 65¢ and $1.25. (haven't been for a while) Got my electric bill. Electricity prices (delivery portion) have gone up again for Eversource - eastern massachusetts. If I didn't have a solar offset my bill would have been $59.65 for 150kWh of the juice. That's 39.7666 ¢ per kWh.
I drink coffee at home, on and off all day long, even that is getting $$. Several years ago my husband brought home Don Francisco for my to try, LOVE it! Super expensive now, bought some Folgers Colombian instead to save money and even that is expensive now too.
The tropical weather has left and the shop is inhabitable again. Going to try to make some progress on a 14' long reception desk tonight. Pretty easy project. Customer is subbing out the top to a granite installer...I just need to make the "frame" and one stack of drawers. Since it is so long I have to incorporate some 3" angle iron to support the top. First time making furniture this way, but I'll figure it out. Tomatoes are coming on STRONG...going to be canning soon.
I quit going to DD for coffee a long time ago (somewhere in the low 2000's). And started going to Cumberland Farms for 99 cent large coffees - about half the price of a DD large at the time. When I moved into this house, I bought a $15.00 coffee maker (a regular one with a pot, not for the expensive pods). I make a pot of coffee and it lasts about 4 days (yes, I refrigerate the leftovers). I do however stop at DD every so often to get an iced or frozen latte as a treat.
