That’s a good way to make money, find a niche market that most places don’t want to touch. Figure them out and where to get parts and people will pay.
I discovered that these express school buses most likely have cruise control already programed on the ecm. All I had to do was swap out the steering wheel with one that had the cruise control buttons. Totally plug and play. This is going to make long drives a lot nicer.
Looking for market place deals during the off season worked in my favor again yesterday. I picked up a barely used Hori 5 camp stove yesterday for a fraction of the price new. Last Dec I met up with some friends do do some winter camping, it was very cold, I think it got down to 11* overnight, and my one friend had a hot tent with a small wood stove. I liked the set up a lot. Am I about to trade my skoolie for a tent? No way! But I've had my eye on an annex room that attaches to the bus' awning to create an 8x8 tent room that can be used year round. During the winter months I can turn that awning room into a hot tent with the new stove. I forgot to mention that the stove runs on pellets so I wont have to cut firewood into small pieces in order to get them to fit the firebox. The stove can burn both pellet and wood but I have no plans on using it with wood when I can just buy a bag of softwood pellets and use it to fill the hopper. As far as I know there's no restrictions on bringing pellets to a state park either lol. I did order the update air intake flap and will be swapping the old one out with the new design. People have had issues of this stove smoking them out due to the flap getting stuck open by pellets. It's a hot tent stove that'll ill be using to heat the awning tent room, not burning inside of the bus (I have a diesel heater to keep the bus warm). You can cook on top of it with a skillet and if you use pellets as fuel the area that is used to burn wood is now a small oven. They also sell a 3 liter water heater attachment that connects to the end of the stove so you always have hot water available. I'm still on the fence about picking that up.
originally I was going to mount the starlink to the roof and was looking at protective cases to mount it. They're all made of hard plastic, then it hit me, the roof emergency hatch is also made of plastic so the dish should be able to send a signal through it and I could easily mount it inside. works great! If Im parked under trees I can just pull it down and run a line out of the window and set the dish up in a clear spot.
