I always put the biggest nastiest pieces of wood/logs off to the side in hopes of having someone take them for free. I didn’t run an add to get rid of these and I knew I could use some more junk wood for my wood boiler this winter so I decided to start tackling these miserable pieces. I knew I was in for three strikes - big, knotty, partial rot in spots but the fourth strike came when I realized one of them was sweet gum! . Have about half of them chunked down to manageable pieces for the tw6. What’s left is bigger but is at least solid and is quick drying silver maple. Saw is a 390 with a 24” bar.

Put the 36” bar on the 390 today and took care of all of what was left which ended up taking more time than I hoped. The biggest one was 5 feet across. They are all blocked up and noodled to manageable size chunks. Was a hit one today too. Was a hit one too. Topped out at 98 but was “only” 96 when I finished up at 2pm.

Low 90s here, high humidity too. My saws won't start in hot weather.

I can't tolerate heat anymore. I really dislike summer. I'm definitely a wintertime guy. The heat just zaps me and sometimes makes me sick.

What’s crazy is on Thursday it hit 98 here. The dew point was in the upper 60’s and low 70’s but the relative humidity was in the low 40’s which really isn’t that bad but, the hotter the air, the more water vapor it can hold so it felt really humid. Humidity levels like that on a 50 degree day wouldn’t even be noticed by most. Yesterday was bad though as the dew point hit 80 which it rarely does here.
