Several of us in the neighborhood have end of July birthdays. Shrimp boil complete with crab legs to boot!!!
This is something we have never done around here. An authentic Boil is on my bucket list of things to have done. I need to see tables completely covered in crayfish and assorted yummies. Someone speaking in such a strong Southern Louisiana accent that I can barely understand needs to be present...hopefully the Cook.
I worked with a couple of those guys...when they'd get wound up and start talking fast, no clue what was being said, none....other than occasionally someone would call someone a "coonazz"...apparently that's very derogatory in that neck of the woods. And yes, they could cook! You's better like spicy though...I think every recipe deleted any water, replaced by hot sauce! Excellent jambalaya, just hot!
I'm not a fire eater, but do enjoy spice. I go through 20 -24oz of Tabasco yearly. Box of these lasts about the same time.
We tried our first boil this spring. It was good but I’m not sure anywhere near y’all’s level. Happy Bday.
We do a shrimp boil a couple times a year...Pretty sure it isn't gonna beat what Mrxlh is cooking up!
Ohh... look what followed me home? There must have been a sale! Happy belated birthday to me!! I'll let them cool. Get out the good stuff and refrigerate. I'll have lobster salad tomorrow, or a gentle reheat in a puddle of butter. Maybe both! 2.75lbs
