That's a nice pile of wood. Good burning when dry...

I love helping neighbors and friends. I got a free chainsaw out of a deal like this too. Some 30 something cc newer mac. The kind that shouldn't even wear that name. I haven't even tried to start it yet. It's sat for a couple years.

There's a guy in our community that mentors at-risk kids with after school help and summer programs. I've seen great results with the kids. He had a tree guy drop a couple dead oaks and a catalpa. My cousin, who cuts the grass for him, asked if we could help clean up the brush and get the logs moved.
We loaded up a couple saws and the Kubota, went to town.
He had a couple small piles of brush already 20240625_085557.jpg 20240625_085600.jpg

We moved the 2 small piles and then started cleaning up the limbs and bushes/grass around the trees... 20240625_120426.jpg
    Made 2 big piles... 20240625_120414.jpg

Got a trailer load of oak, pretty decent, I think... 20240625_124109.jpg
    Dumped out... 20240625_124316.jpg
It started out about 70° early this morning, this was on the way home with the tractor... 20240625_150305.jpg
Had my big cup with water on the tractor with me...
We will process this for my cousin...

That oak won't take too long to dry out, hopefully.

Some punk here-n-there, but it appears to be mostly solid.

We topped a huge pecan tree for a neighbor in Feb '22 0226220824.jpg

He asked the other day if we could cut the stump off, his saw wasn't big enough....stopped by yesterday and took it down 33283.jpeg
MS461 with 28" bar from both sides got it done... 33279.jpeg
    33295.jpeg
We cut the smaller stubs off 33277.jpeg
Then had to cut main trunk into sections... 33299.jpeg 33305.jpeg
He got it moved to the burn pile, we have to much to process at home now, so we didn't take it... 33303.jpeg
I had told him at church Sunday, about our Kubota being in the shop...he said, "Take ours, don't need it for awhile", so we will use it to move things around on the woodyard. It's a 3901, more HP but smaller frame than ours.

From what I read in the by laws there is also a fine associated with disposal of premium wood. Fines are collected by yooperdave and it includes automatic suspension of helicopter privileges for 1 year.
Too much wood is not what she said

Yeah, that reminds me. Just like publice radio has their membership fund raising drives a few times a year, FHC also needs to get re-booted for the delinquent membership dues. Send your payments to me now (cash is king) to end the low fly overs by the company jet. :smoke:
