Where in Door County? It's great up there, as long as you stay away from all the touristy crap. LOL When I lived in GB as a kid/young adult, we used to take rides up there all the time to enjoy the sites. It was only over the past 15 years or so that I was introduced to all the stupid little shops and stuff that I never visited previously.
We're in Little sturgeon Bay. Nice and quiet, except for the sero turn mowing at 8 am today. We check out today anyways, but we're going out on the boat again today after we check out of the hotel. $7 to launch and have a place to park the vehicle from at the public launch is a nice thing. We went to fish Creek by truck yesterday, we wanted to go by boat. Rain changed plans. That town is crazier by wheeled vehicles easily. No thanks. Today is nice out, but not as nice as Monday when we got here. We took the boat out as soon as we got here before check in and we'll go out after check in today as well.
I always had fun on this road in my younger years. SOO much fun in a sports car. One has to be careful though, as there is a high spot in the road further up that if you hit it going to fast the car will unload it's suspension and bottom out. Ask me how I know.
Wind was from due North. That means rough water where I was. 6-8' rollers on Wednesday when on Monday it was super smooth and we were able to send it as fast as I wanted to. So the next possible lake Michigan adventure is this weekend, Saturday. The air and water show is in Milwaukee. The air force thunderbirds are top billing but there's always some cool stuff flying there. It's about 27 miles south from where I'll launch to the show area . It's supposed to be 10-15 mph winds from the South/ SE. Since we'll be hugging the shoreline of WI it hopefully will be smoother sailing than Wednesday up on door county. The ride home will be better based on the wind direction. Milwaukee is going to be a little crazy by car, more so than usual. Harley Davidson is having their homecoming at the next park down, German fest at the summer fest grounds, Brew fest is somewhere in Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Brewers are at home in SlamFam Field.
Too flat and straight...the tail is no joke! I got a lil motion sick, never experienced that on a bike before, especially while I was the operator!
...I said "almost"......just a small comparison. I drove it in a car years ago, with my nieces in the back, didn't take long for her to ask me to pull over, she called Ralph and Earl...... I was just getting the tires to squall a bit in the curves...
At first I was thinking EAA, but then I'm seeing the land/water photos and thinking that doesn't look like Oshkosh/Lake Winnebago! LOL
