This red maple was leaning towards my house. I put a rope in it, notched it, pulled it and it got hung in a White Oak. Pulled from a different direction with the Tacoma and wouldn’t budge. Hooked up to the Kubota, gave it a few pulls and kaboom it’s on the ground.
Horizontal with no mishaps, is always good regardless of how many plans that had to be deployed! Good job.
You needed to get it on the ground safely and did so. Once in a while it takes a couple more steps, we've all been there.
That is a lot of tops/brush. I hate physically dragging brush, see you have a good tool to do it for ya. I use my tractor likewise.
Yes I hate dealing with brush and this maple is loaded with it. I got 3/4 of it cleared before calling it a day. I’m going to have to start looking for a 3 point chipper. The yellow jackets added an extra layer of hell to brush cleanup. Ffs my yard is full of yellow jacket land mines right now. I’ve been stung twice from 2 different nests and the tree landed on another one. Found 4 nests in the past week and emptied the TS shelf of wasp spray.
Glad you got it down safely without issue. Decent size too. Kind reminds me of the red maple I hung up last Fall and had to fight to get it on the ground.
It’s only the second or 3rd time I’ve used it. I have not had to sharpen it since I’ve had it. It’s definitely light.
