This is the RV Resort that is being built in our town...Home - Sanwar RV Park & Resort
We're friends with the guy that does most of the land clearing. We have gotten 4 trailer loads of goldilocks oak from there before.
He called us Tuesday morning, said he had a nice pile of logs saved for us, could we pick it up soon...
So, Thursday morning, we :quad:back to town after work with Godzilla and the dump trailer.
Part of the pile...oak and cherry... 20240711_091336.jpg
Even better, he loads us with the JD60 mini-excavator...:thumbs:... 1720703558291.jpg
    Piled it high... 20240711_092651.jpg
Then he told us about a big log in the back, they had the tree taken down... 20240711_092208.jpg
It was so big, the mini-excavator nor the skid steer could pick it up, they rolled it there... 20240711_102012.jpg
28" bar on the MS461, log is 14' long.
I finished a partial cut they had started, then made another cut at 54"...
    Almost a trailer load... 20240711_104542.jpg 20240711_104525.jpg

The temps around here have been too warm for me to grab the chainsaw and finish bucking/hauling out the 22" ash I dropped in the woods.

I can't imagine how bad it must be is in your neck of the woods regarding temps! Good job!

I'm with you. I was splitting a few rounds I had the other day, when it was "cooler" out. I still ended up sweating through my shirt, the humidity was still pretty high.

Running a saw cutting up logs right next to him at Denny's GTG the first days of May, I was full sweat and he wasn't showing any sign of being warm. For the safe of science, how would you do in 8° weather and a few inches of snow T.Jeff Veal ?

Nice work, and a great score!

Thanks brother. It was the warmest I've seen in MI this year when we were there.

You motivated me T.Jeff Veal . It was about 70° and not as humid at 58 dew point after dinner, so I went down and cut a few honey locust rounds that were too long and split nearly all that I had left of my last score.
2 hours of work. Now I'm ready for my next score.
I have a feeling you'll beat me to that. :salute:
