Pellet heads!! What's up today?

Speaking of birds, here's one you can try to figure out. I see this bird every few days trying to get into the suet feeder. IMO, this is a "mutant" male Cardinal, but everything I read says they don't have any genetics to allow for any blue coloring. Same size as a Cardinal, but the head and some blue feathers on the other side make me wonder. Thoughts??

Yes, strange appearance. I took this after it was getting dark, and am surprised how well the Galaxy camera worked with no flash.

 

No relief from the heat at night around here either. Forecast says low 70's and muggy every night till Sunday.

I think you got it right in one. It looks the same as the cardinal at this Bald-headed Birds - Feeder Watch article.

Those big black orbs around the eyes just make it look plain spooky!

 

The one here looks almost exactly like the bottom pic in the link you sent. He was in the backyard again this morning grabbing a peanut.

Had a thunder storm last PM that took out the power for thousands of homes. Trees down. I had hoped that after those horrid storms we had in Jan. that all the weak trees were gone, but such is not the case. If anything, it made more of them. We have
started with our stand-by generator install. Now waiting for the gas company to come and hook up the gas to power it. With the anticipated horrid hurricane season predicted, this is the year to have this generator. I can no longer pull out the one on wheels or fuel it up with gas or propane. I can't lean back and rest, or sleep in bed without my bi-pap running.

18, They did a consumption review and came up with that. Other companies said 14, and others 18. I hope it does the trick.

 

18kw? I would think that would be plenty for any average house. Mine was only 12kw and it ran everything in the 3000 sq ft house with ease. Only thing I didn't run was the biggest elements on the electric stove......microwave took care of most stuff during an outage.
