Cool! Depends on what time you get to the bridges too. We used to go Saturday to Saturday. Leave super early and get to the bridges by 8. Weekends are nuts up there.
I finally had time to go back. Near perfect weather for this time of year. Loading my wood hauler. What remains after a load. Truckaa offered to help with the last load, tomorrow. Time to unload I figure close to a cord in total Now that I have inventory on-site, I can make firewood at my leisure. I've got some empty racks that have been all cleaned, raised up a bit, and leveled.
It was a perfect day for it. Nice to take advantage of it. Great to have inventory on hand and empty racks too.

Its also nice inviting said friends over to enjoy the fire when its that season. I was commenting to Stumpy yesterday, how good it felt to be moving inventory around with cooler temps in mind. And I think moving wood/keeping active keeps us young. Great thread Mike.
As planned, the remaining oak was moved this morning. Nothing left except chips and noodles. We measured and the length of the rounds-n-chunks is 25'. I'm calling it a cord. Now, I get to split and stack!
That's the beauty of the 3yr plan. I'm easily 3 yrs ahead now, 80% red oak. 15% is ash, BL and black birch. 5% red maple Is it bragging to burn RO as shoulder wood?
LOL! My friend burns the BL I supply him for SS. I also sell him RO heartwood and sometimes hickory. I've offered to sell him lower btu woods but he likes what he gets.
I am just about 3 years ahead (about 6.5 cords and I use a little over 2 cords a year.). 25% BL, 20% Elm, 25% SBH, 20% Hard Maple, 10% Ash and Cherry. Much of the BL, and all of the Ash and Elm were standing dead.
That is a wide variety of firewoods! Easy to look up the BTUs of each, but what is your order of preference for burning? I primarily sell hickory and white oak, so everything else goes into my stove. I haven't noticed a well seasoned split of any hardwood that didn't produce nice flames and heat.
I agree. I like them all. I usually mix them and adjust the combinations depending on outside temperature and length of burn desired.
If you've got that much RO, burn away! Just remember that those of us burning less-worthy species during shoulder season are just jealous.
