It looks like we are almost out of the heat wave but it is not going to be cool. Lots of chances of rain coming too. Some just a short distance away now. It was 94 yesterday. 86 predicted today. That is still hot.

It got down to 71 F last night and this morning we have thundering in the distance with light rain on the roof. I hope it doesn't develop into more than this as we have to pack up to leave this morning. 85 F is predicted for the day.

Signing off on hours, yes. Still had to take road test. And still the responsibility of parents to teach and young drivers to learn how to drive a 2 ton machine down the road. Young ones think they are invincible, know everything, and won’t make a mistake. Until they do.

I forget the numbers, but LOT of new drivers either get in an accident or come real close within x amount of weeks of getting their license. Just as they get confident of their driving skills and start making mistakes. I know I rolled thru a stop sign pulling out in front of a high school teacher in his little blue mustang coming down the road just a little too fast for the blind curve. Fist in the air, today would be a finger. No accident, just a close one. About two months after getting my license.

I bet almost all of us have been in an accident that could have been avoided. :whistle:Snow covered roads got me when I was as a young driver. I gently introduced my parents Impala to a telephone pole while doing a 180 unintentionally. :emb: Put a good dent in rear corner panel. Luckily, that was all the damage.

Apparently we had a Microburst about 2 miles West of my backdoor on Tuesday...We lost power and my generator took a crap about an hour and a half into the outage.
Luckily the low oil pressure switch did it's job, but made an enormous mess. Back up and ready to run again when needed.

71ºF was the high for the day. According to NPR we are in the peak of a heat dome this weekend.
Apparently there are those that buy what they are selling.

71?! I'd kill for a 71* high! It was at least 96* here (that's the highest I saw...may have been higher) and dewpoint in the "muggy" zone!

It was 65/66ºF last night. and around ten PM, too. Great for sleeping, but still humid, though. Might be a little warmer today especially if the cloud clear out for some sun. We'll see.

Too much rain though. The mosquitos and slugs are loving it. Plus I have to keep cutting the lawns.

Wife turned on the heat for a while. Cool and dampness in here. I don't blame her a bit. Might as well be comfortable. It has been raining for the past two days. Won't have to water the plants for a while. VA finally got my electric wheelchair fixed. Needed new batteries. I am glad I didn't have to pay for them. I am anxious to have some weather I can go outside and enjoy. I love watching the birds and listening to their calls.
