Having grown up on Long Island Sound working part time for my dad and his lobstering side business, I can’t even remember how many I banded. I will say I remember the one and only time I picked up a young lobster that was obviously not a keeper- I distinctly remember my dad saying, “watch out, those little guys can reach straight back!” Yep, he wasn’t wrong.
lol, learned a long time ago those “little” claws will ruin your day. It’s always fun to see a “nubie” test his might!

Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing! Family and I kicked around a MA trip sometime in the near future. Salem, day or two in Beantown, Plymouth, and maybe ending up on the cape or near it for a few days. Lot's to see and do!
Another lousy day that found us in Sandwich. This is the Sandwich boardwalk. It has been a few years since we were last here because it had gotten destroyed by an ocean storm surge. It connects the beach to the downtown area, a little walk away. Looking back at the parking lot. Looking at the end of the CC canal. Beach roses(Rosa ragusa) white and pink We returned to Hyannis for lunch. Then walked along the harbor. We caught the people high-speed ferry leaving for one of the islands.
Nice shots of the boardwalk. Kinda surprised they rebuilt it. It was just officially reopened (for) Memorial Day 2024 weekend/or a couple weekends ago. For all the time I've been to that beach I've never walked across it. Or even over to it.
Today's direction was west to the Falmouth area. I dropped Mrs MikeInMa at a golf course where she met up with a friend. I went to a place just north of Woods Hole, called the Knob. The Knob - Salt Pond Area Bird Sanctuaries Quissett Harbor I followed a woodland trail through a wooded area, with glimpes of Quissett Harbor. The trail breaks out to a causeway of sorts, to the Knob. Looking back at the beach to the right A rope handrail. One last look back as i head off to the parking area. From there, I caught up with my wife and her golfing buddy for lunch. A train bridge. At high tide, people will jump into the water. Time to head back to Hyannis and some AC.
Constant breeze bringing in the cooler ocean air over mid-60'ss water. Kept the high temps in the low 80's. Still a bit hazy.
There's a large number of osprey nesting areas around. I took a short video of this one, then screenshots from it.
Where do you launch from? Looks like an excellent day to be on the water. Nice temps and no sun to bake you.
