Alright thanks for the confirmation guys that it's not just "me" who's perhaps being snobby about charcoal/wood vs pellets. I gotta start giving my neighbor more chit about his smoker. Heck I've got 3 WSM's, told him any time he wants to try one out for himself I'll guide him through it all. It worked with my other neighbor on the other side of me a few years back - he was using a masterbuilt propane smoker for years and constantly complaining about it. Lent him a weber smoker for some ribs and he was astounded how easily it held temp compared to his masterbuilt. He went out and bought the biggest WSM after that and been using it ever since.

We're in the process of moving and I made a huge mistake. I unloaded pretty much the whole upstairs into the garage so the carpets can be cleaned. Blocked both my smokers in so no cooking for me the next week or so at least. Now all I'm wanting is grilled or smoked stuff.

I wear this shirt pretty regularly haha. Truth be told I don't really care if people use pellets or not as long as they're cooking and enjoying it. I do think they're missing out on the best part of cooking by not tending a fire but I realize not everyone can commit the time needed to do that. I like jabbing them though haha....I call it the "lazy way" which gets them fired up even more haha Screenshot_20240614-193310.png

I have anywhere from 216 to 240 lbs on hand right now. Some bags are 18 lbs/some are 20 lbs but there is one dozen left. Its the lowest level on hand that I've been at for charcoal in years!

I like the idea of using the tote for charcoal storage; I'll have to find one that "fits my shelf" where I store the open bag for immediate use.

That tote is a dog food tote. Sealed to keep bugs and moisture out. Its on wheels and hold a whole 18 pound bag of kingsford.
