Pretty sweet deal I'd say. Is it possible that the bar is heat treated like that from Stihl? I'm not a Stihl guy but I recently acquired a few and the bars kinda look like that with blue on the edges.
All the vehicles I have ever owned have been 100% factory and I haven’t had any real problems with them. Might not be the fastest but they have been reliable.. I have also seen things so “modified” that you couldn’t count on it to get you around the block. I can’t blame a fella.
Can't argue that...and I'm sure there are some less than reliable modded saws out there, but not the ones with xtra sausage!
I usually looks like that from worn ones I've seen. Paint should have not worn off edges yet. Mustve been forcing the saw.
I can see your point BUT it depends on who is doing modifications; I would like a Yenko Chevy, a Shelby Ford or a Mastermind or XS anything…
buZZsaw BRAD Do yourself a favor and get a new orange Stihl fuel filter in that saw before it gets a clogged up solenoid for the Mtronic carb. The first gens were problematic and it sounds like, from what I've read and been told by guys in the know, it was the filter letting to much debris through that a standard carb wouldn't have issues with.
Its a first gen. They all were that were sold here. It should have a black solenoid if it's original. If its green or white its been replaced.
