It has been busy but I am finally getting started on the smoker project I got the new tongue and hitch on the trailer and cut the first pipe into the main smoker pipe and the 30 inch long firebox and today I got the door openings cut they are @44inches by 18.5 inches they are heavy (1/2 Inch wall pipe) I will keep the pictures coming as I get the project moving . The first picture is what the final project will look like when I finish it JB
Good Morning everyone I have been a lot busier since retiring from day job and being full time at the saw shop and welding shop finally got a update on the smoker project it is coming along I did work on it yesterday all day and am getting near the home stretch here is a picture from last week I have to get batteries for the camera to get a picture from yesterday ( Always something) I went to take a picture and it was dead . this picture shows it on the trailer I got the doors on it yesterday and all the supports for the cooking grates and the chimney stacks and finished welding it all out. I still have to make the firebox door and install it and the grates I will post the updated picture today JB
Here are a few more pictures on the home stretch today I cut the door for the firebox out 24" in diameter 1/2 inch thick plate the plate is 2 pieces welded together I cut the center out freehand but all the circles were cut with a circle burner attachment. I just have to cut hinges and latch out and put it on . We also had a change of plans for the door handles I have to remove the one pictured and relocate it. The doors are @50# and without putting a counterweight on them you need more leverage to open them . The inside will be 2 or three grates set on the framework ,Hopfully I can finish it this week Have a great weekend JB View attachment 420970 View attachment 420970
You would not want me cooking !! if it is not a microwave or a coleman camp stove not for me !! The first run will be up to Ricky Blazin he is the cook !!! JB
My culinary "skills" are extremely limited too. So Rickyblazin, whats on the menu for the first run? Can fit a lot of meat in there.
