so if my current fridge is 20-23 years old I'm pushing my luck ?

This one I needed today at the time , so I bought what they had in stock at the local place. Brought it home in my truck, slid it up the stairs and through the house on some pieces of cardboard. iirc, it was the one in the showroom, so a few people have seen the insides besides me. The old one was avocado green. The new one is white and the handle is awful to keep clean.

In my own opinion....that 20 year old fridge will probably live just as long as something new that you'd replace it with. So many got tossed because they looked a certain way or did not have a certain feature...they still did their jobs which is keeping food cool and frozen. Shame. Now they are full of electronics.

YIKES! Ours is from 2013 and with the price of them these days I hope it lasts. Stove from the same year is on its way out. Doesn't get hot enough in the oven.

Yeah those avocado ones are built like Abrams tanks. Get one for the man cave!

The overflow fridge is the one that was in my parents house when I was growing up. No unnecessary electronics, no ice maker no water dispenser. The freezer doesn't get as cold as it used to but we have a dedicated freezer that gets used for bulk meat and veg.

I have a “dorm room” fridge in the garage. If it takes a crap I can get another cheap like.

I have on top of my toolbox in the garage and one at work in my office (slightly larger). Handy little suckers!
