Yes, those are wild violets. They can also be lighter purples, up to a very pale purple to the point they look white at first glance. The leaves are always that shape though. I have mostly the deep purple violets in the yard where they compete well with all the other grass/weeds. Last year I gave up trying to keep them out of the south side area under the pellet stove exhausts. Those are mainly the very pale violets. Actually I don't mind them being in that area too much as they are very low growing and the exhausts high enough that the violets don't pose a fire danger. Picture taken yesterday (everything behind the mini split are the violets). I did get to mow yesterday afternoon for the first time. It was iffy since it rained in the morning and was darkly cloudy - until about noon when some sun started showing, the humidity went down and a slight breeze started drying things out. I was unable to mow the drainage are on the north side of the property as it was pretty high and still wet so the mower just bogged down. That area will take special treatment one it dries out some (not likely to be in the next week by the looks of the forecast.)
It can happen to anybody. I was getting up early for a long time but suddenly I'm getting up later. Still tired though.
Todays rendition of the song September is serenading the cat, so the word meow is used as lyrics. The concert is May 22.
Picked 7 pounds of rhubarb today. One of my nieces wanted some . Her hubby can cook and owns a restaurant/diner. I only make pie and jam with it. I usually freeze some to make a pie out of season. Although I made rhubarb simple syrup a few years ago but it wasn't very flavorful. The color was nice though.
Walleye opener on Wed. Gonna set a couple minnow traps today with hopes of feeding those wascally walleyes!
Me too, it is 10 Am by the time I am dressed and ready for some breakfast/lunch. I take a nap late afternoon, and am back in bed between 9 and 10 Pm. I read or listen to the news for a while before lights out.
How abut this one? Britian got their azz handed to them during the revolutionary war but decided they'd give it another try to take over our nation, It ended just as poorly!
Yet another underground plumbing project today. 90' of downspout drains. I'm a little scared for how I'm going to feel tomorrow.
