    Hi, teammates!

We got 12" of snow on Saturday night. But the days are getting warm enough that the snow melts within a few days. I'm still burning every morning, and most nights.

My awesome neighbor, who is about 1/4 mile away, had a couple of decent sized Ponderosa's taken down professionally in September last year. They offered the wood to me. I finally went and grabbed it with Frank and the Yutrax and brought it home. It was 4 trailer loads. I split and stacked it yesterday. It's a little over a cord, I'd guess.

It's just Pine, so nothing exciting, but I burn 6-8 cords of Pine every winter. It keeps my family warm, so I'm glad to have it. I also produced a small trailer full of bark to burn in the fire pit.

Pictures are fun, so I added a bunch.

Hope you all are doing well and staying warm!

    Love, Cash

"Its just Pine"..... but it sure beats trying to burn grass, cow dung or snow! I have used Pine quite a bit and found it kept me quite warm too. You use what is available and adapt. Love your pictures bud!

I had to look twice at that setup- it's the same as mine! Arctic Cat quad and exact same trailer. Nothing wrong with Ponderosa, I have burned many a cord. I like that it seasons in a year as opposed to oak which requires a two to three year plan. You live in beautful country!

Close to home and will be ready to burn by the time fall comes. Hard to beat that.

Nice of the neighbor to think of you. Gotta love easy grab score. Split up nice too. Is it easy to split wood Cash?

Thank you, sir! I love that old Arctic Cat. It’s an 07’. It’s been a super reliable workhorse.

Oh yeah. Ponderosa splits super easy. It will pop with a quarter throw on the hydro most of the time.

My house is just a hair under 9,000 feet. The firewood that I grabbed from my neighbor was at about 9,300 feet.

Sitting here in 69 degrees F at 9:15. :dennis: We just had 3 days of over 85.

Nice work on the stack. Pine is fine, use whatcha got. :dancer: And… save that bark :handshake:, it all produces heat.

I agree! Sometimes on a cool spring morning, I’ll toss a big stack of bark in the stove and light it off. That will be just enough to knock the chill out of the house, without cooking us out for the rest of the day.

I was in Spearfish SD a couple of weeks ago for a conference and was talking with a couple fellas from CO. They mentioned I believe two years ago it was June 23rd and working up in higher elevation there was shoulder deep snow! Amazing

That round on the left (third up) should have been cut into cookies for axe throwing targets!
