That's really cool. I'm curious how that even happens. More than 100 years old and the oak has a pine grow out from it...like the movie Aliens?

Any idea where that is at?

 

Wonder if someone made that happen by planting those in the oak.

OK, so along the same lines (amazing trees!)
Its December in the wilderness, where you are stuck 'til spring, this is the last tree left, and all you have is an axe...do you survive, or freeze to death?!

 

That looks like a tree that will chase you through the woods.

I've seen a pretty good sized silver maple in a oak crotch.
I think the roots actually penetrated into the oak.

Makes me think it could be interesting to create some weird stuff. Years down the road...
