I had one and ported it and gave it to my brother He brags on it i ran it against a Husqvarna 455 and 257 and a ms290 and it was as strong or stronger than most of them and lighter I've been into knives lately i have like 40 chainsaws Joker handmade in spain Condor made in el Salvador Off-grid knives made in taiwan Cold steel Taiwan
How do you like the 044? I have the same saw, runs good but doesn't scream. Thinking it needs to get ported.
I love the 044. It’s the first pro level saw I ever used so of course I became a Stihl fan for life. It’s the total package. Power, balance and reasonably light for its age. Dependable as a Tonka dump truck. I’ll be leaving mine stock and bless the next generation with one of the greatest 0 series made.
