We were removing some dead Ash trees today for a homeowner. When we were all done he ask us if we wanted his old saws
So I now have a really clean 044 but it needs a P/C. Can I still buy a P/C kit from a dealer?
This will be my first Stihl saw but I do run some at work when my Husky autotune fails to start.

What!?!?! I thought electronics were supposed to fix everything and work perfectly every time. (Obviously tongue in cheek) Congrats on the free saw tho.

I'm in a love / hate relationship with the Autotunes but this 044 is old school

Auto tune saws have had hot starting issues for quite some time. I guess there's a special starting process that's supposed to alleviate this. I haven't experienced this issue with the Mtronic system on the 3 Stihls I have / had with it.

    Congratulations on the new toy.

I haven’t had a problem yet with the hot start issue but I start them differently than how I would start a carbureted saw

I've only played with one. A 550 version one. I flooded it right off the get go. Lol.
