Got a friend that lives next door to where we did the big Plantation job. He is thinning the woods on his 5 acre property around his house.
He called, said he had a few trees down, could we bring the tractor by and sort logs, make room.
Went by yesterday afternoon. Got the sweet gum in a couple piles for pulpwood. Moved 3 pine logs to his mill and loaded the red oak for the trip home. 20240313_185727.jpg 20240313_183144.jpg
Still have this oak left to get, will be dropping more trees soon. 20240313_183129.jpg
Which way will it go, boss...:hair::hair:
I definitely need to help him drop the trees. He's climbing a ladder, tying a rope about 14' up, and getting his wife to pull them... 20240313_175103.jpg 20240313_175047.jpg

Had a good 7 days off from work, got a few things accomplished. Last Friday morning, we delivered a tote of oak to the local restaurant... 20240329_094732.jpg
Then we took Godzilla, dump trailer and tractor up to a friend's place. He had a pile of composted wood chips another friend of ours needed for a garden project. Took 2 big loads to clean up the pile 20240329_115953.jpg 20240329_115939.jpg
My 7yr old grandson wanted to work to make $$ for the book fair at school.
He helped me split some chunks into a tote. 20240401_110915.jpg 20240401_110944.jpg
He did a great job, found some nasty nails in 1 round... 20240320_093605.jpg
Miz Carol helped me finish that tote Wed morning, all 11" post/white oak... 20240403_115750.jpg
That will be some great fires in a couple years, top on, let the drying begin... 20240403_120200.jpg

The Pine pollen looks thick. My parents live in Long Leaf Pine country and the air gets cloudy with pollen, along with turning everything yellow. It doesn’t look like there is any danger of y’all running out of logs

We started another unloading area above mom's house, next to where we have some older logs...
This is from 3 different scores...
    10 loads total, I think. 20240410_084517.jpg

Quite the hoard you have accumulated. Be sure to leave a saw there for mom to use! :saw:

It's OK, my friend. She passed in March '22. She was 95, but lived at home until she was almost 94.
