My pusher guides broke off a few days ago while splitting some tough hickory and oak. It had cracked in the past and I had made a quick weld to get by, but it was only meant to be temporary. I put new guides on it today and gave it a test on the rest of the oak and hickory. I think they'll last a while. I made them a few inches longer to reduce the stress of off center loads. I also put plug welds along the side. We split up a healthy cord in about 45 minutes.
