Low of 22.3°f last night with a little better than an inch of snow on the back deck. Should reach a high of at least 45°f today with clear and sunny skies. White oak keeping the house warm.
Only got down to 41*F last night. Doug Fir splits and an errant split or two of Madrone heating the house. No more wood after 12:00 as the house will be too hot! We had a new heat pump and air handler put in 5 weeks ago but it has not had to do much work at all!
42/74 reloaded this morning and the sun came out, was 76 in the house earlier, probably over 80 in the stove room. Just reloaded at 8 with a few splits of ash. Will have an overnight fire then leave it go in the morning.
35/77 this is looking like the last fire of the year. Cherry and apple going right now. The apple is probably the best coaling wood Ive ever seen.
38/70 white oak and one scrap slab cutoff of mulberry. I wasn’t planning on burning white oak in April, but it was in the way and had to be moved.
Some odds and ends for this morning. Going to 60 today. Not sure what this big yellow, warm ball in the sky is. Hopefully nearing the end of the season.
Outside temp was 29, already up to 32. Inside is 61 and they are calling for a high of 63, so the pellet stove has the short term duty. Like many folks we will going to watch the eclipse, just a few miles away in my friends farm field up on top of a big hill. we will have 99.58% totality.
It was 42 this morning. I tossed in some Hickory and bid farewell to wood burning until October. Happy eclipse and rapture day to those who are celebrating.
Mid 40's out this morning so I got a fire going with elm and birch. Cloudy today so we won't see the eclipse directly.
I had 40 at 7:30a today. 65 inside so I burned 3 degrees worth of HHO. Headed to a predicted 74. No fire for several days.
