Big Maple came down across the road last Winter and I finally got enough ambition to go at it with the power saws.
As it turned out it wasn’t as bad as as I was expecting. I was able to cut most of it into truck bed lengths so that cut down on some of the stooping and hauling.
Ran a Shindaiwa 377 and Echo 590. The 590 is the smoothest running saw I have in my collection.
    I got the road opened

up a bit but the bad part of the deal is the best part of the Maple is inaccessible due to the terrain and the way it is laying in the gulley. [IMG]

    Nice work sir.

When you said "big maple" I'm envisioning this behemoth trunked tree. At least it was easy on the back wood.

I probably misled there. I really visioned this project to be much bigger than it turned out to be. Everything in the road was good size to handle and easy to reach with no tension to worry about.
