Just an old Weber gasser. But here's to another 20 years! Original parts are getting scarce for these, especially if not the basic consumables like burners, grates and flavorizers. I bought mostly aftermarket parts for mine but I was particular. The stainless grates are aftermarket, but identical to the Weber parts in everything other than price. The stainless flavorizers are USA sourced and 304 stainless (the grates are 304 as well, albiet not USA), which should outlast the rest of the grill. New ignitor kit, I sprung for a new warming swing basket, new casters on the frame, and I replaced the crossbar for the burners but the main tubes were in good shape so I kept them. I do have a Weber burner kit that I'm going to keep on the shelf for when/if these finally give out. A neighbor reached out and said he had a brand new Weber light kit that fits my grill (but not his!) that I could have, so the old girl will likely get a new toy as well. I didn't do anything crazy for the cleanup, just a good soak in some degreaser (Stihl branded, lol), and a session with the pressure washer. The only thing rotten on the grill was the grease tray hanging bracket, aftermarket replacement (no OEM available) and all is well there again. I did spray the inside of the frame tubing with some AMSOIL MP (similar to WD40) for a little rust insurance. My main problem is all the algae as my patio is on the Northeast corner of the house and gets very little direct sunlight, but tons of shade and moisture.
If any of you BBQ afficionados know of a griddle that's both reasonably priced (ie: not GrillGrates) and fits a 15" Weber Genesis series, feel free to chime in. I'm having a heck of a time finding one that fits a 15" x 22.5" Weber. Tons of options for the Genesis Silver B & C, but not my Genisis Silver A.
