I have learned a big lesson today: If you stare at a clock, it doesn't move faster.

You think that clock's moving slow now? ... Try sitting on the top of a hot woodstove for a full minute... and really experience slow time... :D

It's my personal belief and observation that they actually slow down when you watch 'em.
    Especially on Friday.

Poor bugger, you have been away for awhile. Woodstock (WS) Ideal Steel (IS) is Woodstocks new steel stove that went into production this summer. There are a handful of members that pre-purchased in advance early this spring.

Finish off some mulberry. So much easier to split and stack, when I cut them then when a tree trimmer supplied...

Got an MRI on my head today. My hearing loss is asymmetrical so the Dr. wanted to make sure there was nothing pressing on the nerve. I had to lie flat and not move my head for 1/2 hour. So my head is inside the machine. It makes the pulsating patterns of very loud noise that somehow put me to sleep or hypnotized me cause I started to dream over and over again as they changed. Then the tech popped in on the PA and asked me how I was doing. I said I was just relaxing. She said that not to many people away that.

Hope the best for you Paul bunion. How much hearing loss? How did this happen? Any results from MRI?

Well anyway, yesterday I managed to get all the cabinet and closet doors reinstalled upstairs (still painting windows). Also got all the window AC units out, mowed the lawn and put down fall fertilizer. Catherine spent most of the day cooking in prep for my sis visit today. ziti, meatballs, homemade foccacia bread, cookies and she was going to make an apple cake this morning. I tried to suggest taht she not overdo it but she likes to cook, what can I say

Its really feeling like fall, yesterday it barely got to 60, overnight I think it dipped to the mid30s and its only 37F as I type this. Surprisingly the inside temp only dropped to 68 overnight - and I havent even closed the storm windows yet, but the mrs feels cold so we just fired up the heat for the first time. It hasn't been done since spring so I blew down the boiler to get the settles rust out (steam, needs to be done monthly). Of course now the boiler drain valve has started to drip! Its trying to remind me its been years since it got a professional cleaning/tune so I better call on that.

Oh and that damm jackhammer finally stopped at around 3pm. Judging by the huge pile of granite chunks up there they must have been digging out the basement for the new house that's going up where the old barn was. I had thought they where paving the gravel drive since they showed up with a paving machine but doesn't look like its done yet.

Time to get the kids up soon, town festival day is today and the parade starts at 9.
