Russian based Oasis Beverage said it has signed an agreement to acquire Pabst Brewing Company. (Source: CNN)

(CNN/WTMJ) - An iconic American beer maker will soon belong to a Russian brewer. Russian-based Oasis beverages says it has signed a deal to acquire Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Pabst owns a number of well known American beer brands, including Pabst Blue Ribbon, Old Milwaukee, Schlitz and the Malt Liquor Colt 45.

Oasis didn't reval the terms of the deal, but said it will not change any of the Pabst brands.

In an email a staffer told CNN Money that Oasis will keep the “classic recipes” and “consistent quality” of the Pabst products.

I can't say I've drank a Pabst product in several years. Definitely haven't touched Colt 45 in well over a decade.

Seems to be getting harder and harder to find a non microbrew beer, or major national brand that is wholly US owned.

I could care about PBR... but if they try and buy Sam Adams its time to roll the B-52s.

Can't say I've ever drank PBR but I've had some Schlitz... But I've since went to Samuel Adams/Boulvard and micro brewers.

I really like the Yuengling on draft when I am at a Rest./Bar. The taste is very good out of those kegs. They don't like it when you do the keg stands though. No guys, no keg stands at the bar. :emb:

    D. G. Yuengling & Son is the oldest operating brewing company in the United States, established in 1829. It is one of the largest breweries by volume in the country.
