Wintry day today. 27⁰/40⁰ gusty winds will generate wind chills in the mid-teens. Normally not an issue for us, but I need to take my dad out for a Dr followup appointment.

Morning all. Dark out there this morning. Up early to watch another curling game and then we might go out and get another load of firewood if the weather cooperates. Yesterday it was overcast and drizzled off and on through the day. We had chores to do and I spent the day at the computer setting up my new hard drive. I had a financial report to do as well. That with another game to watch in the late afternoon meant that I didn't get out in the garden or the sewing room. Maybe this afternoon.

MikeInMa Glad to hear the root canal went well. Not the most fun thing to get done.
Sawdust Man I have a basement full of goodies that need to be gone through and put up for sale. Now that I am retired, there doesn't seem to be the time to do it.
Backwoods Savage I think we might be into spring now and leaving winter behind. Everything is starting to bud. The old apple tree next door looks ready to bloom.

Morning to all. Turkey have been visiting at the house every morning. I can’t go out yet as their breakfast time is now. Dropped four chains off at a shop I hadn’t used before. 8 dollars a chain , and they will be ready this afternoon.

they have an assortment of hatchet for sale that a local guy refurbished and adds hand made handles. The owner has been in the Stihl trade for decades. Also has several Husqvarna saws and sells new and used Husqy mowers. I think I am set with them

bought a 20” bar too. I mistakenly bought 20” three pack of chains. Wanted to do that anyway.


Nice sunny morning so I will make the most of it- once the Tom’s and hens are fed.

Good morning everyone! We are having some of the coldest weather of the season with significant snow on the way. I kinda knew this would happen after such a mild Winter.

Another cold day. 24⁰/41⁰ mostly sunny.

Heavy rain for tomorrow. So, I'll be outside today, including the running of a few errands.

I think a pot of homemade chicken soup will be on tomorrow's menu.

Yesterday wasn't real productive, just set up the mill and made a town trip.

Morning all. Partially sunny this morning but with a bit of a wind so it feels cold. I managed to get my strawberry plants in the ground yesterday. I think half of them will survive. Curling game this morning to watch and then chores for the rest of the day. I hope to get down in the garden again.
I started another puzzle to see if all the pieces are there. Mom gave me some to donate to the school library and I am trying to make sure all the pieces are there. This one has a cat chewed piece and I think it is missing one of the edge pieces. I will know when it is finished.

MikeInMa I always use a small pressure cooker to render a carcass down for soup stock. Your way would really make the house smell nice.
Sawdust Man We don't have redbud trees here. Instead, the red alder are producing catkins now and for anyone with allergies, it is a tough time for them.
theburtman I thought we were going to get another blast of winter but so far it looks like it will be spring for awhile.
T.Jeff Veal enjoy your two days off. They must go fast.

 

My mother has terrible allergies to the alder in the pnw.....problem is, she lives in an alder bottom so she's surrounded by pollen all the time.
