No on the semi. The corner tip is the whole "point" of square filing. I use that size chain on my MS250, but I have about 4 now that are all square filed already and a couple more new ones still in the box to convert when I need them. That'll last me a LONG time. I'll file one of your full chisel ones for you to try if you want. I know once I started cutting with the square, it's hard to go back.
I figured it wasn't a thing on square with no corner. These all came off ms250's. Thats all the company buys for the lineman crews. The problem with you square filing my chain is once its dull I'm dead in the water unless I want to try it myself. Lol
I figured with the way you like to keep your saws looking like new that you would be jumping right into square filing with both feet... It's not too bad once you get the feel for it. The files are a little more expensive, but they hold up for quite a while. I file right on the saw just like round filing.
The new forester Platinum light bar will be here Tuesday. I'll give my impressions on it plus how much it weighs compared to the oregon speedcut.
I don't consider this a light bar for an 18". I'll weigh the Oregon speedcut at some point for a comparison.
I like how the filter mod turned out so much Imma get a new hood for the XS 241 and do the same thing to it.
Its more about not having to pizz with oiled foam filters anymore and have better performance than stock. Those pleated 1/5 scale rc car filters are cleanable, 98% efficient, and keep out the fines. The cool looks are a bonus.
I replaced the blue outerwears prefilter with a new black one after the pics. The blue one has a hole in it where it shouldn't have.
So I'm out sharpening those free chains today for 241 #2 and decided to provide y'all with some useless information. First a tooth...
Then went scale crazy. Bars first. 18" Oregon speed cut, .050 narrow kerf .325. 18" Forester platinum light, .063 standard kerf .325 16" Stihl rollomatic E, 3/8 pico. 16" Stihl Rollomatic E light, 3/8 pico 16" Sugihara light, Stihl 3005 mount, 3/8 pico.
