It will be easy to get. I’m fortunate to be in a position where myself or others get paid to deliver it. Every dump at my house saves my employer $80-$90 in tipping fees.
I don't bother with it, but I have access to more free wood than I could burn in 20 lifetimes. My mom had about 20 white pines dropped and we gave them all away.
Yes. Just remember for every piece of “bad” wood you burn you save a piece of “good” wood. You don’t always need a five hour oak fire going. Sometimes you only need a fire for an hour or two or even less depending on the weather/temps. Trouble with only having oak and black locust is that’s what you burn all the time every time so you need a lot more of your premium woods. So your lower btu stuff helps your premium wood to last longer. But I guess it depends on you and your situation with what woods you have available, what wood you already have in your stacks, and what available space you have for more. But if it were me, and that log was laying there in front of me on the ground already all nice and easy to get, I’d take it.
