37/74 cherry doing the work tonight. It had been a minute since the last fire and I could smell that burning dust smell for the first few minutes.

Very nice, sun just slipped behind mountain but still light outside at almost 6pm. We had a string of overcast/cloudy/snowy days, I didn't realize the sunset moved so far :)

Even as old as I am I am still amazed how much the sun moves. Soon it will be setting straight west and then by June, wow!

-17/1f under clear skies. Definitely need the sunglasses with all the bright snow when out and about. Im burning a full load of birch right now. I dont usually get much birch as its a bit on the rare side around here but I was fortunate to get a cord of it green and free two summers ago from a builder who did some clearing. It was all decked out so I was able to pull my truck right up to it. It sure leaves a lot of ash in the stove compared to the fir and larch I usually burn but I enjoy it.

Good Morning, 31* as of now but the sun is up and bright and the heavy overnight frost is melting. Seems like a week since we have seen the sun. Anyway it's supposed to get up to the low 50's, Beach weather. The pellet stove got the duty for a morning short run.

35/72 this morning. Started a fire just before bed last night to take off the chill. Probably let it go out during the day. Supposed to hit 60 again.

Mid 50's, raining, and mud everywhere. Re-lit the boiler for its daily run. The basement zone still calling for a little heat so I'll let everything get caught up and shut it back down. In this kind of weather it spends 22+ hours a day idling so I figure I'll just turn it all the way off and save some creosote.

I'm back on the road next week and it's looking pretty warm after Sunday, so I'll probably shut it down and turn the water heater back on.
