46/70 I will probably put a few small splits in, supposed to be cloudy and 52. Still drizzling rain at the moment but the forecast has it moving out soon. Shall see how hard the grounds feels to determine the plan of action today. New bar came for my Echo 620, it is soon to get dressed in a new bar and new chain.
My Buck has a similar baffle with the small pieces of metal tack welded on edge for ridgity. The heat plays havoc on it with it covering the long span. Heavier metal would handle the heat better but mine mounts to steel pegs with hitch pins (came with cotter pins) but stainless hitch pins make it much simpler. Has to be removable to access the cat. I flatten mine out when I have it out but the heat eventually slightly deforms it again over time.
33/64 Never reached freezing temps overnight here either, as evidenced by the dogs bucket of water outside.
35/68 (but my furnace is running) My insert makes great heat but I use it often just for ambiance with the reduced load on the natural gas bill a bonus. I have a small fire burning with some unknown wood might be boxelder or cottonwood. Very dry and bark free. It's heading to a sunny but windy 60 today so most likely I will let this burn out around noon.
36° already outside. It smells like spring already. It didn't until this am. 70° inside I'm burning ash and catalpa. I thought I burned/ traded away all that catalpa that the tree service dropped off the other year. Guess that's what happens when you finally get to the bottom of the pile in the processing area. I'm sure there's another piece of it somewhere in the stacks.
It has been pretty much a wash out so far today. Doesnt really matter to me because I have to work. Loaded up the stove with mix of oak and cherry before I headed out.
It was 68 today. The friggen sweet spot for farwooden. Still burning wood to keep momma from grumbling and my daughter has been down with the flu. 69 tomorrow
46/64 no fire today, headed for 79. I very much dislike anything over 65, I wish the highs would stay in the 50's.
40 here. Small fire of ash and soft maple but will just let it burn out probably until tomorrow morning.
32*F overnight. 11 AM now with mixed rain and snow. Doug Fir in the stove with an occasional stick of Madrone that has been showing up in the woodshed stacks. Good day to work in the shop!
50 this morning. Our record high for the day is 56, set in the year 2000. I was in Arizona then enjoying sunshine and warmth.
