Loaded the fireplace before I went to work this morning. Got a call around 3 p.m. and wife wants to know how to reload. Gave her a rundown over the phone and upon arriving home around 8:15 pm, there were two pieces burning and cat thermometer was reading over 600.

I was very pleased to see her show an interest and see that she was able to understand how to use the air control, blower fan, and how to engage the bypass and cat controls. I now know I have a solid co pilot in keeping 24 7 fires rolling. I have a 12 year old daughter to educate next, but I'm not going to rush that. When she shows an interest, I'll work on that.

Excellent! My wife is great at keeping the fire going as well. I do have to keep shatter splits available for her, that's the only caveat. Not a problem.
