I've been starting to build a dedicated work bench for reloading. I'm using all lumber I've harvest from our forest. The top is mad of some "left over" red oak (1" thick). The base will come from my little, private stash of 10/4 (2.5" thick) white oak. I hate to mix red and white oak, but this is a work bench, not a dining table, and that's what I had on hand. Today, I cut through a bullet in the white oak. Half of the bullet will wind up in one of the legs of the bench - apropos I guess. So far, I've got the top all glued up and I've milled up the stock to make the base. Popoki the cat and Bruce the dog pop into the workshop relatively frequently to keep an eye on me. I'll keep ya'll posted on the progress. 20240214_174530.jpg 20240223_150122.jpg 20240223_142418.jpg

Current reloading space. Mr. Popoki was "helping" me this morning.

    Good on you.

But I gotta ask how Mr. Popoki got his name..
not exactly something that most of us would think of.

And I agree that it's apropos that a bullet fragment is encapsulated in the work bench.

    Edit.. Lyman press?

    Popoki means "cat" in Hawaiian.
Forester CoAx press. I like it a lot.
