Good stuff there. Always fun to score a species you dont get that often.

The back of your truck reminds me of mine. Lots of wood crumbs and compost. Wish my tailgate was that nice!

buZZsaw BRAD I did in fact clean out the pickup bed before my latest delivery. Must've kicked 10 lbs of wood chips, bark, and various other debris out of the bed. It was starting to hold water and turn into soil in some places I believe!

I think this tailgate will wind up looking like yours given enough time. The thought actually crossed my mind as I unloaded the latest haul. I flipped a log out end over end and it hit the tailgate pretty hard.

The latest couple of loads have been near opposite of each other. A smallish load of Ponderosa Pine:

Good length on a few, but not much for width.

Then a much bigger load of mostly barkless Black Locust with a couple sticks of Pine and Cottonwood at the bottom.

The weight in the bed is considerably different in the second batch. Locust always seems to put a little squat on the rear end.

Much nicer weather to be cutting in lately. Probably about done with deliveries for the season, but after making my first real effort to sell wood this year it seems the limit to what I can sell is what I can produce. Everything I made (that was ready to burn) went out the door. This is all already dry enough (or will be very soon) and should help rebuild the stock for future seasons.

I'm a fellow door knocker too. Wife and daughter think I'm crazy, son loves coming to the door with me. I'd say its about 50/50 if they are home or not. I had some business cards printed a few years back with my name and cell number on the front. Back is blank for me to write what i stopped for, usually wood or a pick up bed trailer. Call backs are around 50% too I'd say. Actually heading out this morning to finish a mulberry score from a business card and another couple cords from a door knock. The answers always no until you ask.

Yeah it builds up over the months. Cant remember the last time i swept mine out! :emb: I back up to the woods sweep away. If its dry enough ill use the blower.

Some nice wood there. Losts of dead stuff to be had i see.

Its gonna take a lot of "abuse" to make it look like mine. Its mostly trying to close it with wodd already there.

I wish you the best as far as selling goes. I had the idea to sell wood a few years ago, and ran into the same issue, selling out everything I had that I had nothing left for myself. I kept track of all the hours I spent processing and the $ I made selling and it was less than $5 per hour. I also have an 8 way splitter, a skid loader, and a Supersplitter. Plus I got the wood dropped off for free from a tree service.
