Is this the process your lab uses to test? Pretty interesting preparation. Wet Pack Tissue Simulant Preparation
Similar. There are some wet pack advancements that labs are now using. It costs more and prep is more involved but the results are great. The ability to examine layer by layer the "wound channel" and the trauma surrounding the channel is where this process has its advantages. In our lab, we also insert paper thin hard plastic sheets into the pack at various intervals to "print" or "map" the projectile behaviour as it penetrates the pack. These sheets are a finite way to study what the projectile is doing and it gives us a permanent record of the process. It also allows us to overlay the sheets and compare results between minute changes in projectile design. It also allows us to clearly show repeatable results when we batch test. Gel does not have any of these capabilities.
That's awesome news, cause I bought a couple hundred rounds back near Christmas when I found it on a great sale.
Nice score!! Set up a target and comfirm function and zero. I preferr to do this at 10-12 yards. I like to use USPSA/IPSC cardboard targets for this. You can also make a fine target out of a pizza box.
I've seen that same round in .45 on sale a few times as well. If the .45 opens as well, that would be quite a hole.
Folks, Do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this deal. Get a couple hundred rounds ( or whatever you can afford). Stack em deep if you can. Ammo does not go bad or go out of date. At this price, one cannot go wrong for good, reliable off the shelf Self Defense ammo that works very well in EDC guns.
On sale again....this time $1 less per box than the two times I jumped on it... https://palmettostatearmory.com/nor...c-hollow-point-9mm-ammo-20-box-299740020.html
Already 3 pages but.. I've shot and killed a few game and varmint animals.. CCI is consistently good ammo. CCI Stingers are light, fast, and extremely deadly. CCI Velocitors are ALMOST as fast and have more weight. I would run Stingers in my varmint rifle and Velocitors in my... varmint pistol, if I were restricted to an enemic caliber such as 22lr.
Hashknife Thanks very much for all of the great tech data and ballistics testing. It pays to have friends who know stuff
