Yesterday I helped remove the transmission out of another quarries loader. The guy running it backed over a Boulder. For some reason the skid plate had been removed. Probably a bad idea. Punched a hole the size of a basketball thru the case. Ouch $$$. Only saving grace to it was that it wasn't the regular operator it was the mine supervisor.
That must have been some boulder. That casting looks fairly thick? People who work on these big machines have my respect.
I have a thread titled Work Thread. Fill free to post up pics in it. I post a couple times a week. I'm in a lot smaller company now but when I started the thread I was working in mining also.
