It’s looking like I may surpass last year’s wood burned amount. First college baseball series this weekend.

26 this morning headed to sunny and 55 here in west-central Illinois. Unusually mild winter here.

Burning a duke's mixture today to get things warmed up ahead of a little cold snap. Walnut, white oak, pizz elm, and a little red oak. Have a good day all!

Dropped to an unexpected low of 3 overnight! Haven't seen that for awhile. I took a peek out the window about 2:00 ish and the sky was clear at that time. Clouded up since then.

    20/62

No more snow was added to yesterday's total of just over 4"

4 splits of locust (right bottom) that was dead standing in the top of a tree and measured 14% or so when I split it last year, 1 big (half of an 8" dia log) split of white oak (bottom left) that has been stacked under cover for 4 years, and the rest is 4 year old red oak without sapwood or bark.

No <15 F nights here yet this year, so I'm using some of the best I have for this 21 F night...
I know that's shoulder season for some of you ;p

Currently 44f with a few sprinkles going on. They are talking about snow tomorrow night, but phone does not show it so have to see. Mix of silver maple, elm, ash in the stove. May have another small fire in the morning but doubt it will get reloaded until tomorrow night. Screenshot_20240214_213545_WeatherBug.jpg

34 Ash and Hickory. With the warmer daytime temperatures and extra daylight I’m ready to be done with fire duty.
